REPUBLIC OF KOREA – GOVERNMENT OF RWANDA SCHOLARSHIPS

The Higher Education Council (HEC) wishes to inform the general public that, through the Bilateral Cooperation between the Government of Rwanda and the Republic of Korea, the International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has offered to the Government of Rwanda scholarships for Master’s Degree and PhD Program in the fields of Social Economy, Response to Climate Change, Applied Artificial Intelligence, Control of Infectious Disease, Digital Transformation Technology for the academic year 2022.

Interested candidates should submit of the following documents:

  • Application letter addressed to the Director General of HEC
  • National ID or Valid Passport
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • One (l) recent passport size photo
  • Original – notified certificate and transcripts
  • Recommendation from the employer
  • KOICA application form
  • Document checklist
  • University application form with required documents (Refer to the program information on KOICA CIAT Website https://www.koica.go.kr/sites/ciat/index.do)

Please note:

Prospective applicants must meet all of the following conditions:

  1. Citizenship: Be a Rwandan citizen.
  2. Government nomination: Be a government employee and officially nominated by their institution; with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the field of study.
  • Age: (Preferably) be under age 40 as of February 1, 2022.
  • Health: Be in good health, both physically and mentally.
  • Those with disabilities, but in good mental and physical health, are eligible to apply.
  • Those with severe illness are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply.
  • Level of Education: Have completed Bachelor Degree, Masters or an equivalent to College/ University Level. (Some programs have specific qualifications in terms of Level of Education. Please refer to the program information for each program).
  • English proficiency: Have a good command of both spoken and written English in order to take classes conducted entirely in English and to be able to write academic reports in English.
  • Not be a person who has withdrawn from KOICA’s scholarship program.
