The 2023 University of Rwanda Academic Calendar states that teaching and learning activities shall start on June 5th, 2023 and end on June 30th , 2024 for all UR new and continuing students in all undergraduate academic programs.

The academic year 2023 shall run on Trimester Basis for all Colleges. Each Trimester shall include the following key academic activities and duration:
I) Teaching and Learning: 13 working weeks (for Trimesters 1&2) and eight (8) working weeks for Trimester 3.
II) Revision: One (1) working week;
III) Examinations: Two (2) working weeks;
IV) Special Examinations, Processing of marks, appeals on each trimester Examination results: two (2) working weeks;
Holidays: Trimesters 1 & 2 shall have each a short holiday for two (2) working weeks. End of year_ Summer Holidays shall start on July 1, 2024 and end on September 1, 2024;
The Call for application for new students shall start on February 6, 2023, for Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery and Bachelor of Dental Surgery and on February 20, 2023 for the rest of the UR academic programs.
