Rwanda’s Education Sector Strategic Plan describes the use of information and communication technology (ICT) in education as fundamental to achieve the knowledge-based and socio-economic development outlined in Vision 2050.
Furthermore, the Competence Based Curriculum (CBC) Framework 2015 states that the curriculum must enable educators and students to use ICT to improve the quality of education in all subjects at all levels. ICT must support the new emerging teaching and learning approaches, student-centered approach as well as encourage research, communication and collaborative learning.
In this regard, Rwanda Basic Education Board (REB) is planning to organize teachers’ conference on effective use of ICT in teaching and learning. The Conference will be a good opportunity for teachers to showcase and share innovative teaching and learning practices. The main objectives of this conference are to encourage in-service teachers to use ICT for effective teaching and learning. Furthermore, educators will share knowledge and experience on the educational use of ICT to foster the culture of using ICT in education. One of the expected outcomes of the teachers’ conference is enhance teachers’ competences for effective integrating ICT in teaching and learning.
Application requirements:
The applicant must fulfil the following requirements:
-Being a secondary school teacher and having attended the trainings on capacity development for ICT in Education;
-Having an operational Smart Classroom in your school;
-Being able to attend the teachers’ conference in November 2022
